There was a young and enchanting Queen named Marta

In the heart of a picturesque village called Civitavecchia, there lived a young and enchanting Queen named Marta. She was in exile from a distant land.

Marta resided in a charming house with a balcony that overlooked the lively town square. Her beauty had captured the attention of two ardent suitors, Filippo and Stefano, both deeply in love with her and eager to win her heart..

However, Marta found herself torn. She didn’t want to break their kind hearts by choosing one over the other. So, she decided to leave her fate to chance, turning to the most beautiful daisy that bloomed on her balcony. Every morning, at the first light of dawn, the Queen leaned out from her balcony, hopeful. She would take the daisy in her hands and gently pluck its countless petals, reciting the names of the two suitors. Little did she know that the daisy had been ensnared by the wicked Countess of the town, who was jealous of her. Undeterred, Marta continued this daily ritual, awaiting the long-awaited answer.

The days turned into weeks, months, years… since then, the Queen is remembered as Margherita. Even today, at the first light of dawn, she can be seen uttering the names of her beloved ones, waiting for the mystery of the daisy to be finally revealed.
